part 2 of last week's updates!

as promised, im gonna blog abt my second strawberry jelly sweettarts attempt! this time round, i made it tgt with gene at his house. and this time round, my aim is to make it in such a way that the biscuit layer is crunchy!! improvised some of the steps abit cos there is no electric mixer at gene's house and i forgt to bring my cookie cutters. so we decided to ditch the strawberries and substitute them with longans.

lets start!!!! decided not to melt the butter and just mix it with the biscuit crumbs manually!

gene will be the "electric mixer" for the 2nd attempt!! haha initially thought that the mixture of sour cream will be very hard to mix without the use of the electric mixer, but it turned out relatively easy!! thats good, cos we do not need to wait for an hr just for the sour cream to melt!

put the longans innnnnnnn!!! i thought the longans were to be placed sparingly like the strawberries so that when u cut the tarts into pieces, there would be a strawberry for each piece. but cos we bought a tin of longans, there were so many extras, and so we decided to just put as many in. lol!!

initially it was like this:

after 90% of the longans were added: (looked super alien-y ugly though) ahhahaha

after chilling it in the fridge for 4-5 hrs, its time to take it out and pour the tortally mixture! i had to keep reminding gene to pour the mixture in very gently cos that will determine my aim will succeed or fail for the 2nd time. lol so gene had to use a bowl to scoop the mixture and gently pour it in haha

ta-da! tortally mixture all in! time to chill again! seriously, this recipe doesnt require baking, but the process of chilling alr takes up alot of time and patience. lol

yay! by the time the mixture is all chilled, it was alr ard midnight le. gene and i were so excited can. lol take it out and see whether it is successful!!!!!!!!!!!!

cut cut cut!!

woo...one cut down will determine everything.

and it is successful! the biscuit layer was crunchy still!! happy like a lark! lol but then theres another problem: the upper 2 layers and the biscuit layer didnt stick tgt as much, so some of the biscuit layer were still left on the tin after it was cut out. but after chilling it for a few more hours, the problem was kinda solved, so i guess it was cos we were too anxious to cut it alr. so that kind of mean we were successful this time round! yay!!:):)

saw this online and i thought i would share. this is so true. and all of us should learn, me included. we should all feel grateful and seek contentment and self-improvements.

woke up to see such a very funny scene that i had to quietly reach for my phone and take a pic! pb and gene slept in the exact same position!!! haha

super cute:):):)

ysd afternoon, i had "class outing" with the 02 peeps. turned out that theres only 7 of us. hhhahaaha ok la..thats quite expected. but still glad for those who came! we heard that theres his place in golden mile that serves delicious authentic thai cuisine, and so we decided to have our lunch there. turned out that theres quite a few thai eating places in golden mile and we didnt know which one is the one that alot of people raved abt. but after some time, we found it! nana thai food!!

we gt these dishes to share:

ok this tom yum soup has to be given extra attention cos this is super delicious!!!!!! seems like i only know this word to describe how good it is. lol but it was really good and heavenly u have to try it yourself to feel it. dotn be fooled by the look of it though, the pic doesnt do justice to the taste. we all love this ok!! and i will come back just for this tom yum soup.

people who made it down!!! it was quite long since the last time we met, so this meetup was considered a very good catch up session for all of us. had a good laugh too, with topics ranging from school to work to lovebites. lol seriously with honglin ard, the topic will inevitably end up like this. hahha

group picture of all of us!! till the next time we meet again for liu sha bao!!!!! haha:):)

"if each of the almost seven billion people living on our planet right now were to stream by you in a single file, it would take two hundred years to greet each one in turn." it is so hard for two strangers to meet, and even harder for people to appear in your life and to hold a special position in your heart. so people, cherish the fate you have in this lifetime.
