my student gave this betty boop plushie as my belated birthday present! haha she bought 2 betty boops from USS..one big one small and she asked mi which one i want...so i chose the BIG one! haha!! :)

cooked fried rice ysd! gene and i brought 2 tubs of ben and jerry ice cream ysd too..and the 2 of us finished the whole tub of strawberry cheesecake and abt half of smoores just by ysd! omggggg:x

met up with ying hui bestie after both of our tuition ended...ying hui recommended this chinese restaurant maytim..actualli i dun realli like to eat chinese food...but when i saw the menu with so many diff kind of dishes, i tot its not a bad idea to eat here..and its so hard to choose what u want to eat esp when the menu has so many choices can!!:O

we didnt want to have dessert initially. but den we chanced upon this avocado paste dessert and gt kind of tempted by it, and so we ordered that..haha

avocado paste should be sweet one right?? but this one is so bitter!!!! ok la..it starts off with a tinge of sweetness and its good right after u put it into yr mouth cos its cold...but den what comes next is this bitter aftertaste which so reminds me of bitter herbal medicine...haha we ate all the pearls and tried to finish up about half of the avocado paste ahaha..and ying hui started to play with it..omg disgusting can!!:S

went to nex on saturday! and nex was just too big already! still didnt manage to finish walking the whole of the mall even though its the 2nd time i went!

went to try "Drink Tea"...gene and i ordered this: hazelnut milk tea, cos the menu introduced this as a must-try...i think the milk tea is average...i still think gong cha is the best!

one special thing to note about this milk tea store is that their pearls are roselle pearls! see those red pearls at the bottom?? so special right!

theres water playground for the kids at the top of the mall! so cool, its even bigger than that at northpoint! and it was so crowded, with children screaming and running about in their swimming costumes!! ahaha

they have this bucket thingy like that found at wow wow wet! watching the kids play makes me feel like running inside and join them luh:x if only im still a kid, i wouldnt mind being clad in my swimming costume and getting my whole head wet!!

gene and i went to rest inside tea loft for about an hour before our movie start..and we ordered their green tea frapp upsized! we found a sofa for the 2 of us! so we sat and rest our legs! relaxing i should say!!

gene and i ordered pizza hut's fortune pizza on sat! it comes with star munchies and karaage..and we ordered extra garlic bread and chicken drumlets! i only ate 1 piece of the pizza and im starting to feel bloated already:O but nonetheless, its nice and a special pizza diff from the other pizzas!

chanced upon some actresses doing their movie intro at town...still rmb the left actress? shes 'lan cai he' in the channel 8 show 'dong you qi'!!!

went to watch black swan...initially both gene and i thought that its gg to be a boring movie since its only about ballet...but after watching, we totally changed our minds. its awesome! u guys should watch it too!! after that, we went to eat at shokudo...the food there was nice and their portions was kinda generous! haha

have been feeling kind of stressed up recently. i know i sound stupid, like how can i be stressd up when school was just opened for like, 2 weeks? but i know im a person who gets stressed up easily, and i can feel it now. whenever im feeling stressed or down, i would channel all my energy to working out. and it was when i was running today, did this question popped up: why isit that i can have the self determination to work out everytime, and not for my studies? it was then did i realised, its cos i lack the drive. i dont find my drive from studying. my only aim is to get my cert out from uni and get it over and done with. but i guess i have been living in my own bubble. my own assurance that im still in year 1, where i can be carefree in my studies, and still have good results miraculously. i realised, i have been trying to push my worries and dreadful feelings more and more to the back, not wanting to face them. but now, im faced with so many eloquent and capable students this semester. im being reminded of being in jc again, where i feel im not capable of any subjects. once again, i have been trying to push back the reality, and live in my own world of self-contentment and reassurance. or even, by telling the people around me how bad my situation was, all the while expecting them to provide me with the reassurance or support that i cant find. but all these shall stop. others can help by saying things to probably make u feel better, but at the end of the day, its you who determine what u want to achieve. i know my own capabilities. i know im slower than most people. its all the more i have to put in double or even, triple the effort that others take. its time to buck up, yue kai.

anyways, i found a song which i particularly like the first time i heard it. its JLS's 'love you more'. i cant explain why, but it just lead me to reflect and give me the strength. the power of songs is indeed powerful yea??--

A frail old man lived with his son, his daughter-in-law, and his four-year-old grandson. His eyes were blurry, his hands trembled, and his step faltered.The family would eat together nightly at the dinner table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating rather difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon, drooping to the floor. When he grasped his glass of milk, it often spilled clumsily at the tablecloth.

With this happening almost every night, the son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess."We must do something about grandfather," said the son."I've had enough of his milk spilling, noisy eating and food on the floor," the daughter-in-law agreed.So the couple set a small table at the corner.There, grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed their dinner at the dinner table. Since grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in wooden bowls. Sometimes when the family glanced in grandfather's direction, he had a tear in his eye as he ate alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food. The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening, before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly: "What are you making?" Just as sweetly, the boy replied, "Oh, I'm making a little bowl for you and mama to eat your food from when I grow up." The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

These words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Then tears streamed down their cheeks. Though no words were spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening, the husband took grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.For the remainder of his days, grandfather ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk was spilled or the table cloth was soiled.
